Also, prep your home. At the very least:
- Secure your yard furniture.
- Make sure your gutters and storm drains are clear.
- If you want to cover your windows, use 5/8" plywood. Taping the 'X' doesn't work.
- If you have a garage, keep it closed. If the wind gets in there, it can damage the structure of the house itself.
