ROCK HILL, S.C. — A 15-year-old will not go to jail for killing a friend while playing with a stolen gun.

A judge in York County sentenced him to 15 months of probation.

He pleaded guilty last year to killing 14-year-old Braylen Jackson in Rock Hill.

Prosecutors said the teen stole the gun from an unlocked car.

However, the judge said there was no intent to kill Jackson.
