CHARLOTTE — A death investigation is underway after two bodies were found in a southeast Charlotte creek bed Wednesday night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
The discovery was made along Monroe Road near McAlpine Creek Park.
At about 5:40 p.m., officers responded to a welfare check call and found a woman’s body lying in the creek bed. Police then searched the area and found a man dead about 200 yards upstream.
Homicide detectives are working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death.
No names have been released and the investigation is ongoing.
