Deputies said they received a dropped 911 call that night from a cellphone inside Hugh Lee Moose's home. They went to the house on Shiloh Road after several attempts to contact the caller were unsuccessful.
Deputies entered the home through a broken glass door and found Moose’s body.

Witnesses said a man went to a neighbor’s house around the time that Moose was killed and asked to use a phone so he could get a ride home.
They described him as a white man between 25 and 35 years old with light brown or sandy blond hair. They said he was wearing light-colored Carhartt overalls and a dark backpack. A composite sketch of the man who witnesses saw in the area was released.
Now police are saying they want to talk to a woman Moose had been seen with in the months leading up to his death.
Family members said he drove her to Raleigh and she picked up a bag of needles. They don’t know her name.
The family is offering a $30,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call 704-928-9804.
