CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte firefighters fought flames on the griddle Saturday morning.

They flipped pancakes and served up breakfast to families at the 7th Street Public Market in uptown.

The firefighters do this every year to collect donations for the North Carolina Firefighters' burned children's fund.

“The fact that we have so many people coming out to support this effort, this cause, whatever you like to call it, it's a comforting feeling,” said burn victim Bryson Patyk.
