CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department released the name of a man killed behind a shopping center in east Charlotte.

Officers found Tavares Phifer dead, and a woman hurt Tuesday off Albemarle Road.
The woman was in critical condition, according to CMPD.
Francisco Lopez-Tadeo allegedly walked up behind them and shot them, police said.
He was immediately charged with murder then later with attempted murder.
