CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide in south Charlotte Saturday morning.

Detectives said they responded to an assist MEDIC call for service around 7:45 a.m. on Cherrycrest Lane, off of Archdale Drive. Police said when they arrived, they found a man who had been shot more than once behind an apartment complex. He died at the scene, investigators said.

“In cases like this, we do ask the public if they do have information to please call us,” said CMPD Lt. Dave Robinson. “It’s very important we process the evidence, we process the scene. If anybody saw something or heard something or believes they know something, to let us know.”

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Keventz Sidney-Nesta Harris.

At the scene, CMPD told Channel 9 they did not have any information about a suspect in the case.

CMPD asked anyone with information to call call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide detective.
