CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they have found a teenage girl who disappeared Monday night just north of uptown.
Officers had spent the night trying to find 19-year-old Archiana Flemming, who left her home on Bancroft Street near North Graham Street around 8 p.m. Monday and was last seen about 15 minutes later at the Family Dollar on North Graham Street.
Flemming’s mother told officers that her daughter has cognitive issues and needs supervision.
Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, someone called police after spotting Flemming at a women's shelter. Police said she appeared unharmed but was taken to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution.
Police released surveillance images of Flemming at the Family Dollar. She appeared to be in the company of an unidentified man.
Authorities do not know how she ended up at the shelter.
