CMPD rules deadly southeast Charlotte shooting justified

CHARLOTTE — A deadly shooting in southeast Charlotte has been ruled justified by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

It happened on July 12 at an apartment complex on Wallace Road off East Independence Boulevard.

Detectives identified the victim as 31-year-old Jaqualla Simmons. They say she and another person got into a disagreement that led to the shooting.

No one will face charges.

Police did not share any additional details.
