CORNELIUS, N.C. — The community continues to rally together to support the family of 6-year-old Maddox Ritch, whose body was found three weeks ago in a creek near a Gastonia park.
Harvey’s restaurant in Cornelius gave away 10 percent of all of its dining sales Saturday evening to help Maddox's mother.

The money will help cover funeral expenses and living expenses due to lost time from work.

The restaurant also held a silent auction.
“I know we can't do much to help her emotionally or anything else, but we are happy to help her financially any way we can,” said family friend Jonathan Sandwick.
Auction winners will be notified Sunday.
