CHARLOTTE — Dozens of Charlotte firefighters responded to a high-rise in Uptown on Monday night.
Around 40 firefighters responded to South Tryon Street around 7:30 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Building, which is roughly 51 stories high. There was a light haze of smoke on the upper floors. A second alarm was initiated so more resources could be brought to the building.
A Channel 9 crew could see crews going in and out of a building on South Tryon for several hours. Firefighters worked to evacuate the building and helped those trapped in elevators.
