ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — The German company that makes the Freightliner New Cascadia, most of which are assembled in a huge Rowan County plant, has delivered 50,000 of the trucks since production started 19 months ago.

That 50,000th truck went to a local firm, Cargo Transporters of Claremont in Catawba County. It is one of 120 New Cascadias in the fleet of 550 Freightliners for Cargo Transporters.
Daimler Trucks North America says it has around 40% market share of Class 6 and Class 8 trucks with its Freightliner and Western Star brands.
