MINT HILL, N.C. — A deadly shooting involving Mint Hill police has been ruled justified.

In December 2025, investigators say Tjamel Ali Hamlin shot two officers after an altercation during a custody exchange at the Edible Arrangements on Matthews-Mint Hill Road.
Officers fired back, killing him.
They returned home from the hospital days later.
The state says it will not pursue charges against those officers.
