CHARLOTTE — Developer Crosland Southeast and investment company Nuveen Real Estate have bought 12 acres of prime land in the heart of Plaza Midwood.

The property at Pecan and Central avenues includes former warehouse buildings that house stores including Bistro La Bon, Elizabeth Billiards and Sammy’s Deli.

The developer is working on plans for the property and said it expects to keep some of the current tenants and structures.

The parcel went on the market late last year and was recently valued at $18 million.

It's not clear what it sold for.

"I just hope they make a great decision of what they want to build here," resident Moesha Huntley said.

The company said the project will take about four to five years to complete.
