IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A school bus driver is in jail after allegedly crashing into the West Iredell County fire station and driving off.

The bus, which was carrying two students, backed up in the parking lot of the fire department and rammed into the garage door, which caused $3,500 in damage.
The bus driver faces several charges, including improper backing.
Surveillance video shows the bus leaving the scene.
“I didn’t know if she didn’t realize she did it, but she did cause some damage,” Fire Chief Jerry Houston said.
She was suspended with pay.

The chief said it was the first, and hopefully the last, time something like that happens.
The firetrucks inside were not damaged.
No injuries were reported.
