CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cleveland County authorities say the courthouse was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a bomb threat was called into the clerk’s office around 3 p.m.
Emergency crews secured the building, evacuated staff and inmates, and conducted a full sweep.
Nothing suspicious was found, and the courthouse was cleared, but a second threat call came in less than an hour later.
Investigators with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office have identified persons of interest and are working to locate them.
