CHARLOTTE — Charlotte will host the CISM Military World Summer Games in 2027, the first time the event will be held in the U.S.
The event is expected to draw 10,000 athletes from 142 countries.

Former Bank of America CEO Hugh McColl, a former U.S. Marine, has been named honorary chairman of the competition, the Charlotte Observer reports.
