GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Four Masonic lodges in Gaston County are set to merge in the new year.
According to the Gaston Gazette, merging the Lowell, South Fork, Belmont, and Gastonia lodges will cut costs.

On Jan. 1, they will become Unity Lodge Number 462.
The goal is to eventually sell the Lowell Lodge and build a new one that is smaller and more cost-effective.
