Girl Tribe founders debut ‘Instagrammable’ concept at Birkdale Village

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Girl Supply looks to shine a spotlight on women-led brands as it debuts in Huntersville.

That concept — the latest from Girl Tribe founders Sarah Baucom and Carrie Barker — just opened in Huntersville’s Birkdale Village. The 10,159-square-foot space was formerly Pier One.

“There’s just a lot of energy up here and we want to be part of it,” Baucom says.

“It’s almost a new wave of department stores,” Baucom says.

Expect an immersive shopping experience at Girl Supply. It melds an upscale pop-up shop with interactive elements, such as embedded Instagrammable photo opportunities within the store.

Adds Barker: “We’re hoping this is a model that can be replicated in other states.”

The store will feature Girl Tribe’s signature girly graphic tees and tanks, clothing and accessories from jewelry to candles.

In addition, Baucom and Barker have curated about 25 women-led vendors to sell goods there. It will continue to evolve, with new offerings rotating in.
