I-40 in Statesville reopens after hazardous material spill

STATEVILLE, N.C. — Interstate 40 eastbound near Exit 148 in Statesville has reopened following the small spill of hazardous material during a crash.

There was no immediate danger to the public, and no evacuations were needed in the surrounding area.

The roadway was closed for several hours. However, no additional details have been made available.
