CHARLOTTE — Police were investigating a homicide in west Charlotte near a recreation center Thursday morning.
Detectives say the incident happened on Tuckaseegee Road behind the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center.
Officials say the investigation started as a call from MEDIC just after 8 a.m. When they arrived on scene, they found a person unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, but they are asking the public for any information that could lead to an arrest.
Channel 9 is asking for more information about what led up to the shooting and how the victim ended up there.
This is the second major police response to the area in recent weeks. Another person was murdered on Nov. 25 nearby on Thriftwood Drive. Police said their body was found in a church parking lot.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, but they are asking the public for any information that could lead to an arrest.
