Homicide under investigation in southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after a person was found with life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening on Monroe Road.

Officers responded to the 9100 block of Monroe Road around 6:15 p.m. for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

When they arrived, they found a victim with apparent life-threatening injuries. MEDIC pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Major Stephen Fischbach said this wasn’t a random act of violence and it wasn’t related to any other incidents.

“At this time, all parties are accounted for, and the other party involved in this incident is cooperating in the investigation. CMPD is not looking for any suspects at this time,” Fischbach explained.
