CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lawmakers are set to vote on a new stimulus package soon.

The package includes the Save our Stages act, which, if approved, would help businesses that weren’t included in the first round.

Places such as live music venues that are struggling to stay afloat would get some much-needed relief.

“I’ve been saying all along that live music is going to be a part of the healing and this bill being signed is going to make that a reality,” Khulmann said.

Channel 9 anchor Blaine Tolison spoke with Joe Khulmann of the Evening Muse in NoDa, one of more than 80 independent live entertainment venues across North Carolina that are fighting to stay alive during the pandemic.
