‘Humbling’: Thieves break into popular NoDa venue months after it closed

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Owners of a popular venue in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood are cleaning up after someone broke into their business.

The owners of The Evening Muse found one of their windows smashed Saturday morning. The business had been closed since March.

According to one of the owners, nothing was taken because it has been closed for so long.

“Only thing stolen was a few hours of sleep,” he said in a Facebook post.

They have since boarded up the broken window and reported the incident to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The year 2020 hasn’t been easy for Charlotte venues. The pandemic has forced some, including the Muse, to live stream their concerts.

The Evening Muse will still be able to stream Christmas shows they have planned for Wednesday and next Sunday.
