CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s the timeless question asked among couples, friends and coworkers: “Where do you want to eat?”
Review websites have made it possible to search through nearby restaurants and check out reviews from fellow diners. One such site, Yelp, recently provided CBJ with information about the 10 top-rated Charlotte restaurants of all time.

They span a wide array of cuisines and neighborhoods — from sandwich shops to international restaurants, and from hip neighborhoods like NoDa and Plaza Midwood to more obscure locations along Independence and Westinghouse boulevards.

To compile this list, Yelp Inc. identified businesses in the restaurants category, then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews. This ranking differs from an individual’s search results because those searches turn up entries that are tailored to that particular user, taking into consideration their location and the time of day.
