Officer-involved shooting shuts down road in Caldwell County

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — On Saturday, Channel 9’s Dave Faherty reported a a large police presence along Grace Chapel Road near Highway 321.

Sources say an officer-involved shooting involving NC Highway Patrol shut down the road until 9 p.m. State troopers were not hurt in the incident.

Eyewitnesses said the road had been shutdown for more than two hours after several shots rang out.

The Grace Chapel Hill Volunteer Fire Department posted the following update on Facebook:

Hello everyone, Grace Chapel Road will be shut down for quite some time, let’s draw strength from the fact that all fire department personnel are ok. Let’s continue to uplift our courageous firemen, EMS, and police in prayer.
