Local high school football team forfeits postseason due to COVID-19 exposure

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — The North Stanly High School football team’s season is over because of exposure to COVID-19.

The team was set to start the playoffs Friday night as a No. 1 seed after going undefeated in the regular season.

The county athletic director said they consulted with the health department and, unfortunately, the team is under quarantine and will have to forfeit.
