RALEIGH — Jeremy Mercer, of Boone, won a $200,000 top prize after trying his luck on a digital instant game on Friday, N.C. Education Lottery officials said. Mercer claimed his winnings Tuesday at lottery headquarters.

He secured the prize on a $5 play in the “20 Years Celebration” game.
The odds of winning the top prize in the “20 Years Celebration” game were 1 in 8 million. After required federal and state tax withholdings, Mercer took home $144,021 from his win.
The “20 Years Celebration” is a digital instant game, which players access and play online.
Players can engage with the “20 Years Celebration” digital instant game with stakes ranging from 50 cents to $20.
Digital instant games are played exclusively online. Participants can access these games through the lottery’s website or by using the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
Currently, there are 73 different digital instant games available for play online.
