CHARLOTTE — Police say a man has been charged with murder after the disappearance of 29-year-old Shaquina Latavia Harris from Charlotte.
According to jail records obtained by Channel 9 on Sunday, police arrested Floyd Morris Long on Saturday for first-degree murder, along with felony larceny of dog and concealing/failure to report death.

Channel 9 has been reporting on Harris’ disappearance for weeks. Her family and friends were desperately searching for her after she was last seen leaving a hospital in Charlotte on July 2.
Family told Channel 9 that Harris’ last known contact was via FaceTime from an acquaintance’s home on Woodford Bridge Drive.
A warrant obtained by Channel 9 shows that Long’s address is listed on Woodford Bridge Drive.
Warrants say that Long is accused of killing Harris “on or around” July 5. He’s also accused of stealing her long-haired Yorkie Terrier mix dog.
Long is currently being held in the Mecklenburg County jail without bond.
