ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A 27-year-old man faces murder and attempted murder charges after a deadly shooting Friday night near Mooresville.
Deputies arrested Jaylene Ty’rese White following the incident in the 1450 block of Oak Breeze Drive.
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:37 p.m. Friday, where they located 38-year-old Sarah Sharp, who was unresponsive with at least one gunshot wound, and 38-year-old Joshua Obugene, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Detectives determined White and both victims knew each other and that an ongoing conflict between them led up to the shooting.
Medical treatment was provided to Obugene; Sharp was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies located White at a nearby residence and arrested him without incident. He was charged with one count of murder in connection with the death of Sharp and one count of attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of Obugene.
He is currently being held without bond at the Rowan County Jail.
White is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation remains ongoing and asks anyone with information about the incident to call the department.
