Man arrested in Texas on murder charge linked to Charlotte homicide

CHARLOTTE — A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Texas and is facing a murder charge in connection with a Charlotte homicide investigation, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Detectives identified Luis Gonzalez Zaragoza as a suspect as the investigation continued and obtained warrants for his arrest.

On Friday, Aug. 31, the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and Harris County Sheriff’s Office, working with CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, located and arrested Zaragoza in Baytown, Texas.

Zaragoza will be extradited to Charlotte and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with murder.
