Mooresville mayor seeks second term, faces two challengers

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Mooresville Mayor Chris Carney has announced he is running for a second term.

He is facing challengers H. William Compton Jr. and Patrick Wright.

Carney told the Charlotte Observer that if voters choose him, he wants to attract defense industry businesses to the area.

He also said the November election will be his last bid for office.
