MORGANTON, N.C. — The city of Morganton has been awarded a little over $8 million to improve its water system.

The Morganton News Herald is reporting that Governor Josh Stein gave the city the money from the Drinking Water State Revolving Funds.
The city manager said the funds will be used for water and resiliency works.
Those will include fixing water pump stations that were damaged during Hurricane Helene.
