CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Several parents wanted to cut back on standardized tests in North Carolina and that change is about to become a reality, state Superintendent Mark Johnson said.

“This is all about replacing an outdated high-stakes, high-stress testing environment with new technology,” Johnson said.
