CHARLOTTE — A new development with apartments, townhomes, shops and a restaurant could be coming to Charlotte’s Lower South End near Olde Mecklenburg Brewery.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Pappas Properties wants to rezone about 15 acres along Yancey Road.
The property is owned by Duke Energy and was previously home to a Piedmont Natural Gas office.
The proposed project is still in the early stages, and no final plans have been approved.
