CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters said nobody was hurt when a house caught fire overnight in east Charlotte.
Crews were called around 3:45 a.m. to the home on Stilwell Oaks Circle off of North Sharon Amity Road. When firefighters arrived, they saw flames and smoke coming from the house.
Firefighters believe the fire started in a bedroom before spreading to the attic, but the cause remains under investigation.
The three adults inside managed to make it out safely, according to fire crews, and the flames were knocked down within 15 minutes.
The home was so badly damaged that fire crews said the family would have to find another place to stay.
