Embattled mall in Charlotte to be sold

CHARLOTTE — Embattled Northlake Mall is being sold and court documents show a deal is in place, but it still must be approved.

It’s been three years since the mall fell into receivership after the owners couldn’t pay off a debt.

A real estate group has been working to sell it.

Hull Properties, which owns Carolina Mall in Concord, wants to buy the mall for $39 million.

The group owns 35 malls over the East Coast.
