CHARLOTTE — Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting inside a Wingstop in northwest Charlotte on Sunday.

Police said they were called to the store on Beatties Ford Road just a few minutes after 7 p.m.

When officers got there, they found 19-year-old Joelle Clesca shot inside the store.

Police told Channel 9 Clesca was not an employee of the restaurant. Major Michael Anderson spoke to us about what took place.

“Does robbery appear to be the motive here? It’s early; I don’t want to speculate,” Anderson said. “The biggest thing is we do know this is an isolated incident. I don’t want to speculate on what caused this to occur, but once we get further into this investigation, we’ll get information out.”

There were employees inside the restaurant when the shooting happened, but no one else was injured.

On Tuesday, 20-year-old Santario Lavarius Turner was taken into custody in connection with this case.
