CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a deadly pedestrian crash Wednesday night in south Charlotte.
Officers were called around 8:30 p.m. to Nations Crossing Road near Woodlawn Road for a reported hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
Police found the pedestrian suffering from injuries. Witnesses at the scene told officers the vehicle involved fled the scene.

Shortly after, officers responded to a separate single-vehicle crash near Woodlawn Road and Old Pineville Road.
Investigators are working to determine whether the two crashes are connected.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
CMPD is asking drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the investigation continues.
