KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A person was hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Kannapolis on Monday evening, emergency officials confirmed.
Authorities responded to the scene near East 29th Street.

Officials have not said what led to the person being hit and have not released the victim’s name.
