CHARLOTTE — Postino doesn’t think drinking wine at lunch should be a crime. The all-day neighborhood café and wine bar will soon bring that mantra to Plaza Midwood.

The roughly 4,100-square-foot restaurant has soft-opened by reservation at 1606 Commonwealth Ave., Suite 101. Doors open to the public on Sept. 21.
Postino is part of the Commonwealth development, at Central and Pecan avenues. Crosland Southeast and Nuveen Real Estate are behind the 12-acre project, which is home to a growing lineup of retail and restaurant tenants.
Postino caters to the lunch crowd, providing a place to gather for happy hour, date night or time with friends. Guests are encouraged to linger over a glass of wine, while enjoying a bite to eat.
“It’s something you can participate in at any day part,” says Jeffrey Boland, area manager. “We are at our best when we are that third place. The place where the community comes together.”
The goal is to make wine accessible while delivering a shareable experience through the atmosphere and cuisine.
