CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they are investigating sexual assault and break-in cases in northeast Charlotte that may be connected.
Police said women reported being sexually assaulted by a stranger who broke into their homes in two cases.
"I've had insomnia since that first incident happened,” said Missy Reyes, who lives at the apartment complex. “I can't sleep well at night."
"I put a wooden stick going across the back-sliding door, because they are pretty flimsy," Reyes said.

Each of the cases happened at the Maple Run Apartments on Canterwood Drive, just off Tom Hunter Road, and the suspect broke in through the back door.
Channel 9 covered the first case in September and police said the second case happened on Oct. 25.
"It's very concerning, because I live alone and I do come and go," resident Linda Blakeney said.
Officials said the victims gave similar descriptions of the suspect -- a medium-build man, who was wearing dark clothing at the time of the assaults.
