Police increase security at Chester High School following social media threat

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a message circulating on social media that could be interpreted as a threat toward Chester High School.

Deputies are working to determine where the message originated and are communicating with the Chester County School District.

Out of an abundance of caution, additional law enforcement officers will be at Chester High School on Wednesday, Aug. 26, to help ensure the safety of students and staff.

The school district has notified Chester High School families directly and says it will provide additional information if necessary.

Officials have not indicated that a specific threat has been confirmed.
