CHARLOTTE — An elderly man who police had been searching for throughout the morning has been found safe.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, 86-year-old Edward Trapp was reported missing by his family on Monday morning. CMPD said Trapp’s family was worried about his safety.
Trapp, who was last spotted on West Cama Street, between South Tryon Street and Interstate 77, near Clanton Road, was found by officials at the Charlotte Transit Center in uptown Charlotte just before 9:30 a.m.

Channel 9 crews saw dozens of police officers and firefighters gathered as they looked for Trapp Monday morning. K-9 units, as well as drones, were used in the search.
Reporter Anthony Kustura spoke with Trapp’s son, who said he was grateful for all the crews that helped find his dad.
