CORNELIUS, N.C. — Prosciutto’s Pizza general manager Ronald Sullivan credits his delivery service for helping make his restaurant successful.
"It's what kept us in business with (Interstate 77 construction) and all the traffic that was going on when they (built) the bridge," Sullivan said.
The Cornelius restaurant’s reputation could be in jeopardy, he said.
Customers are upset about their orders delivered through DoorDash, a third-party food-delivery service.
"They claim to be a business partner of ours, but we have no such business partner," Sullivan said.
He reiterated that Prosciutto’s is not affiliated with DoorDash.
"We would never do business with someone who got an “F” (with the Better Business Bureau),” Sullivan said.
The Google search engine generates the restaurant’s hours, menu and a delivery-service option.
Sullivan said a link to contact DoorDash is associated with his restaurant, not to its in-house delivery service.
"There's no number to contact them in San Francisco to voice our complaints," Sullivan said.
Other restaurants in the area are not associated with DoorDash too, but there is a link to the delivery service to go with the Google search results.
"How can they continue doing business with restaurants who don't even know they're doing business with them?" Sullivan said.
