CHARLOTTE — A developer is getting the ball rolling on the River District’s first retail site in west Charlotte along the Catawba River.

Crescent Communities wants to build space for restaurants, shops, and doctors’ offices.
They expect to have permits by the fall then break ground shortly after.
The River District will also have 2,300 homes once it’s finished.
