CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Santa was in town on Sunday bringing Christmas cheer to east Charlotte families.

It was part of the Just Do It Movement’s Breaking Bread event for displaced families.

Volunteers handed out necessities such as coats and food. A U-Haul filled with more than 400 gifts and toys for people who may not have a place to go this Christmas was also brought in.

The founder of the Just Do It Movement, Jessica Gibson, said she is helping to bring positive change to the community.

“There is hope, man. Despite what all is taking place in the community, I’m able to put a smile on the face from the support,” Gibson said.

One father came with his two little girls.

“It’s a blessing for me and my kids and for everyone,” he said.

Volunteers drove to other neighborhoods after the event to hand out toys to make sure more children got something this Christmas.
