ROCK HILL, S.C. — South Carolina Representative and gubernatorial candidate Nancy Mace held a town hall in Rock Hill Monday evening.

She addressed multiple issues, including the possibility of expanding Medicare and illegal immigration in South Carolina.

When asked about why she felt she was qualified for the job, Mace said she would do more for residents than the other candidates.

“As governor, I will do everything to protect every single South Carolinian. I will take on the AG; I will take on... not doing their job and not prosecuting criminals,” said Mace.

Mace is one of five Republican candidates who have announced their bid for governor.

Democrats have yet to announce a decision to run. The South Carolina gubernatorial election is in November of next year.
