The Volkswagen Group-owned startup automaker is in the process of building its headquarters in Charlotte and a $2 billion manufacturing plant in the Columbia suburb of Blythewood.

Company spokesperson Jamie Lovegrove told Charlotte Business Journal the Whitewater Center sponsorship makes Scout the official automotive partner of the 1,300-acre outdoor complex this month and again in April and October 2027. The Whitewater Center attracts more than 1 million visitors annually and sits along the Catawba River at the Gaston-Mecklenburg county line.
The sponsorship is part of what Lovegrove described as the company’s “coming-out party in Charlotte” that began last month.
