CHARLOTTE — The search is on to be the head of the newly formed Metropolitan Public Transportation Authority.
The new board takes over for the Charlotte Area Transit System on July 1.

It is currently led by CATS interim CEO Brent Cagle.
Cagle is eligible to apply for the role of CEO.
The MPTA has hired the firm K&A to conduct a nationwide search.
